How to give frame-by-frame video feedback that people actually understand

A practical method to review videos frame by frame: draw on the exact frame, keep notes short and turn every comment into a clear retake.

2 October 2026

Written comments like "the arm looks weird around 0:12" waste time. The person fixing the shot has to find the frame, guess what you meant and hope they got it right.

Point at the exact frame

Pause on the frame that matters and draw directly on it. A circle, an arrow or a quick sketch of the correct pose removes any ambiguity.

One idea per note

Each annotated frame should carry one request. Short notes are easier to check off as retakes.

Use onion skin for motion

When the issue is about timing or arcs, onion skin shows the previous and next frames so you can draw the path you expect.

Close the loop

Mark each retake as Done once it is fixed. When every retake is done, the content moves to Done and the owner is notified.

Framink lets you do all of this in the browser, without an account for a quick review.

Try it on your own file

Drop a video, image, PDF or 3D model and start annotating. No account needed.
